This is one of the most historical buildings in the USA. It was here that General George Washington gave his farewell address to his officers in 1783, after the American Revolution was won. And in 1785, when NYC was the first capital of the United States, this building was home to the newly formed Dept. of Foreign Affairs, Dept. of the Treasury, and the Dept. of War. So it's not much of an exaggeration to say that it has been replaced by Washington, D.C.
