About $6,000 worth of damage. This one they'll repair, rather than salvage.
You're right, Wil. Actually in NYC, because collision insurance is virtually non-existent on taxis, no matter how bad the damage is, it will be repaired rather than cough up 29K for a new car.
Yo G.S. what do they do with the cabs that are decommisioned? All the time you can find a used Ford Police Interceptor for sale but a used Ford Crown Victoria Taxi Package that is decommisioned is like non existant.

MJ - some are sold to taxi companies in other cities and continue to be used as taxis. Others are stripped to the bone for parts. And some are sold or given to taxi drivers to be used as private cars. I have one myself, actually.
