I've told many a tourist that this building on 8th Avenue at 32nd Street is a temple rebuilt from ruins of the early Greek settlers in the New World. Actually it's the General Post Office.
I see the weather in NYC is the same as here in Scotland today, our local Post office is not quite so grand though, fronted by one small gift shop and employing 1 1/2 employees. Fee

I could be mistaken but it looks like what movie directors use as background for a lot of courthouse scenes.
