Fifty Favorites, Number Twenty
8 October '09 -- This picture was taken on a Monday night at 2:20 a.m. at the intersection of 7th Avenue and 47th Street, facing downtown. It's a remarkable photograph because it is showing Times Square with no vehicles, and perhaps only one person, present. Although you might assume something special was going on like a movie being filmed, in actuality it was just an extremely rare moment of emptiness, which lasted only seconds, in the busiest intersection in the world.
